About

In 2011, my husband and I moved from Alaska to Oregon and in February 2012 I began blogging about the natural and human environment, and literature. In 2010, I had earned an MFA in Creative Writing from the Rainier Writing Workshop at Pacific Lutheran University, and in 2013 I became an Oregon Master Naturalist.

Blogging with a Pacific Northwest nature & literature focus continues what I began with my first website in Alaska in the late 1990s — solsticelight.com.

Along with blogging, I also work on other writing projects, submitting my writing to publications and doing a few writing workshops. In 2013, my chapbook, Unbound: Alaska Poems was published by Uttered Chaos Press in Eugene, Oregon.

  2. Hi Dina,
Thanks for the comment and ‘following’! I’ve visited your blog–the Arctic posts caught my eye first (I plan to come back and read more…I read German, but slowly). The Arctic is dear to me, having lived in Alaska for a long time before moving to Oregon.
    Take care,
    Katie
